Owner & Arborist
At BC Tree Services, we’re more than just a team of qualified arborists. We’re a group of passionate individuals dedicated to serving our community and preserving the natural beauty of Port Stephens.
Our team comprises experienced arborists, skilled climbers and dedicated ground crew, all working together to provide safe, efficient and environmentally responsible tree care solutions
With 40 years of experience, Brad Chapman is the highly skilled Owner and Arborist at Brad Chapman Professional Tree Services. Brad’s career began in Melbourne, where he learned to climb under the mentorship of John Ashton, one of the top arborists of the time. He also worked as a contract climber for Nicholas Rivet, a pioneer in Australia’s tree industry who built the country’s first disk chippers.
In 1992, Brad moved to Port Stephens and established his own business, bringing decades of experience, unmatched skill and industry expertise to the region. As a certified professional in Tree Surgery and Arboriculture, Brad combines his deep understanding of tree defects with techniques honed over years in the field, giving him a unique edge over his competitors.
When Brad isn’t out climbing trees or providing expert care for clients, he enjoys fishing and has a passion for muscle cars from the 1970s, which reflect his appreciation for craftsmanship and precision.
Just a Call Away
Emergencies don’t wait for daylight and when a tree falls through a roof in the middle of the night, the stress and fear can be overwhelming. That’s why our emergency service means so much to us, as it’s about being there for our community in those critical moments.
We’ve seen the relief on people’s faces when we arrive, whether it’s clearing a fallen tree blocking a road or stabilising a property after storm damage. It’s not just about the work we do, it’s about the reassurance we can bring. Knowing we’ve helped someone feel safe again, no matter the hour, is what drives us to show up every time.
We’re proud to be there for Port Stephens when it matters most, day or night, rain or shine.

If you’ve searched for “tree loppers” in Port Stephens, you might not realise you’re actually looking for a qualified arborist. While tree loppers focus on basic tree-cutting, arborists are trained professionals who prioritise tree health, safety and environmental preservation.
In a region like Port Stephens, home to gum trees, thriving vegetation and precious wildlife like koalas, every tree matters. Arborists understand how to protect native species and maintain ecosystems. Unlike tree loppers, who may prioritise speed, arborists ensure every cut promotes tree health while minimising impacts on surrounding habitats.
Choosing BC Tree Services means investing in the long-term health of your trees and environment. Whether it’s shaping a gum tree or carefully removing a hazardous one, our skilled arborists combine knowledge and care to preserve the beauty of Port Stephens.
